Nike Cross Nationals Gets a New Home / by Scott Bush

Since its inception in 2003, Nike Cross Nationals' athletes, coaches and spectators have both loved and hated the course at Portland Meadows. The custom-built course was unique and very fan-friendly, but if it rained even a little bit prior to race day (which it nearly always did - come on, it's Portland) the course turned into a mud bath. Despite years of complaints, Nike never changed the course...that is until this year.

Nike Cross Nationals is set to be hosted at Glendoveer Golf Course in 2014!. While the set-up isn't quite as sweet as Portland Meadows, the race will include multiple loops, much better footing and a better overall aesthetic. We can't wait to see how athletes and fans like the new course come December.
